The first three months of a woman's pregnancy are referred to the First Trimester. The first trimester is the most important because the baby will be developing its most important organs. It is crucial that you take care of yourself as soon as you find out you're pregnant, if you haven't so. Make sure to get prenatal care as soon as you find out too. Those prenatal appointments are extremely IMPORTANT!  Many changes will be expected to you and your baby. By the end of the first trimester your baby will be about 3 inches long and weigh about half an ounce. How cute!

FEELING A BIT TIRED?

I began to suspect I was pregnant when I realized I was napping everyday! It's normal for a woman to feel extra tired, and WE ARE ENTITLED TO SLEEPING AS MUCH AS WE WANT TO! :) we have an excuse I mean come on...we are only making a human being here! hehe. Feeling exhausted is your body's way of letting you know that its working hard to make your little teeny baby. Make sure to get enough rest and to sleep on your left side. Sleeping on your left side relieves some presure off major blood vessels, letting oxygen and blood get to your baby.

Morning Sickness

Oh man how I hated morning sickness, and the worst part is that morning sickness doesnt always have to be in the morning...I felt it the whole day! Good thing that nausea doesn't last all pregnancy to most women. Nausea usually goes away by the beginning of the second trimester. Some unlucky women will experience nausea longer than others.

Ways to relieve nausea are:
  • Eating small meals throughout the day instead of three large ones.
  • Avoid or Try limiting spicy, fried, or fatty foods. (This was hard for me because Come on! I'm mexican, I LOVE spicy food!)
  • Saltine crackers help a lot!
  • My prenatal vitamins were making me sick so if you suspect yours are making you eeky, talk to your doctor about switching to different ones.

QUIT THE BAD HABIT!

I know that a bad habit is often hard to break. But, if you smoke, drink alcohol, or take any illegal drugs during pregnancy, you're putting your baby at an extremely high risk of health problems.

If you smoke, the nicotine will be passed down to your baby. Instead of oxygen, your baby will be receiving harmful smoke that can cause cancer on your baby. Smoking during pregnancy has been directly related to malnourishment, premature death, low birth weight, and other problems.

Drinking has been linked to be the main cause of mental retardation in babies. This is because when the baby is barely forming, you're putting in all the harmful alcohol and the baby's body does not recognize it and takes it into the baby's body sometimes deforming it, or creating severe mental problems. Same problems occurr with illegal drugs.

So Please, if you love your child or for whatever reason you dont, Please be considerate and unselfish. Your baby will suffer the consequences instead of you.
